Many of you have noticed we have started programming extra work on the green wall to do in addition to the daily WOD. The purpose of this is to give our experienced CrossFitters additional volume to their training routine. We are not going to stop anyone from doing the extra work on offer but there are some guidelines and things to consider before doing so:
- You must find intensity before trying to add more volume - The daily WOD is going to be more than enough for the majority of you to get what you need out of our program. It is more important that you turn up and apply yourself 100% to the session (warmup/WOD/finisher) and work on increasing your intensity than it is to just to do more volume.
- Prioritize your needs - If you know that you have a flexibility issue that is holding you back, you need to make this the focus of any additional work. If you don't yet have pushups on your toes, strict pullups or V-ups this needs to be your focus before trying to do any additional work. If you have a goal or area of weakness to target then talk to the trainers about a supplementary work program to individualise your needs
It is great to see everyone so keen to work but you need to be patient! Your CrossFit Journey is the greatest investment you can make to the longevity and quality of the rest of your life - don't screw it up by trying to do too much too soon!
